Enrollment is done with a purchase of an $899 startup package including the camera kit, installation, and a one-year subscription to DriveCam's event transport, scoring, and reporting services. That's only $75 per month for peace of mind that your teen is safe.

Terms include a 30-day money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied. After the first year, continuation of service costs just $30/month.

Click the "Order Now" button on this web site and you'll be able to quickly enter your account and payment information. You'll receive the camera kit via UPS and a voucher good for professional installation at a Best Buy store. The camera is mounted in a bracket secured to the windshield with an adhesive similar to what holds the rear view mirror in place. Special bracket bolts prevent tampering with or moving the camera. A small cable brings power to the camera from beneath the trim.

Once installed, the camera immediately starts recording videos of risky driving. It continuously captures video and temporarily saves the previous several seconds in a video buffer. If the device is not triggered by excessive g-forces ALL data is deleted permanently 10 seconds later. When the camera senses excessive g-forces it saves the previous several seconds and continues to record and save the next several seconds and then stores that "Event" for later transmission to DriveCam's video driving analysis center. A small LED glows green until an Event is triggered, when it blinks for several seconds then remains red until the event is sent back to DriveCam. This real-time feedback to the driver is a key part of the program as teens learn exactly what causes the device to trigger and quickly adapt to prevent it from triggering.

Events are sent back to DriveCam via a cellular network, normally at night, so the driver starts each day with a fresh green LED. Data is protected from unauthorized access and removal so parents know their teen's driving events are only viewable by them and by DriveCam's professionals.

After the video events are analyzed and coaching tips are added, they are posted to the secure website for review by parents and teens. DriveCam also provides trend reports that show progress over time and how the teen is doing compared to other teens at the same point in the program. This method provides parents with a very effective system for understanding their teen's actual risk level and for enabling and rewarding improvement over time.
